Introduction
I am very grateful to be able to share the information that I have learned over the past forty years of caregiving as a teacher, a daughter, a wife, a mom, an aunt, a friend, a nature lover, an artist, a photographer, and an author. I have a Masters Degree in Specific Learning Disabilities and I have taught children and young adults in the public school setting for more than 35 years. I am also an Auditory Integration Trainer and have been in practice helping individuals with auditory perception and processing issues for the past twenty years. Thirty years ago I was blessed to become a mom to an incredible daughter. Five years later, I was blessed again with a wonderful son. My son has had significant chronic health issues since his first immunizations. He has been my main teacher as he has had a medication resistant seizure disorder since four months old. This began my journey to learn all that I could about alternative medicine and natural methods. I have had extensive training in herbal remedies, homeopathic medicine and energy medicine and also allergy elimination techniques. I also have met and relied on dedicated and caring doctors and medical consultants who have been “angels” in my life and have guided me throughout the years. I am an avid educational researcher who developed methods when teaching my class of children with a variety of special needs - including autism and auditory and visual acuity and processing difficulties.
My background in educational research has helped me to leave no stone unturned to find information to help my son and my mom and other family members and friends. I will also say that however important subject matter knowledge is - my main ally is now and will always be - trusting my intuition and a lot of prayer. Every time I have gone with my intuitive feelings when making a health decision, there has been a positive outcome. I cannot say this often enough and it will be a main theme in my blog. Learn all you can and trust yourself. If you are reading this website you more than likely have been or recently have become a caregiver for a family member.
Yes, the way to health can be difficult. It requires time, dedication, and resources. We are all going to have a disabling condition sometime in our lives. It may be at 4 months old like my son, or at 92 years old like my mother, or at the last minutes of life. Accept and be grateful for the people and help that comes your way and that assistance will multiply. Be thankful in advance for what you need and it will miraculously appear! It is what I know for sure!
